BAND BIO
:

Help Wanted is a progressive rock band hailing from Bethlehem, PA.  Formed by Andrew Watson (bass/vocals), Michael Watson (guitar/vocals), and Bryan Shumway (drums) in late 2007, the current lineup was completed with the addition of Rudy Garbely (guitar/vocals) in the summer of 2008.

The band counts Rush, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers among their biggest influences. A fan once described their style as "a mix between Rush and Blue Öyster Cult."  Help Wanted specializes in complex musical arrangements, with harmonized guitars and vocals layered over the solid rhythm section that drives through tempo, time, and key changes like they're simple blues progressions.

Help Wanted released their self-produced demo album, Out in the Desert, in November of 2008.  Ever since, they have been playing mostly local shows in the Lehigh Valley area.  While touring, the band is constantly writing new material that they incorporate into their sets as it is completed.  This material will be featured on their first full album, Hark! An Awkward Distribution of Fish, which does not yet have a slated release date.  Help Wanted is currently taking a break from touring to finish writing the album.  They will be recording the album using the studio time they acquired when they won Sterling Hotel’s annual Battle of the Bands in August of 2009.  Demoed songs from the upcoming album are being featured exclusively on their MySpace page and the audio page on this website.
